Onion and tomato hashi



Ingredients : 1 cup = 250 ml
  • Onion - 1 medium sized
  • Tomato - 1 medium sized
  • Green chilly - 1
  • Coriander leaves - 2 table spoons (after chopping) (optional) 
  • Grated coconut - 1/4 cup
  • Curd - 1/4 to 1/2 cup
  • Salt - according to taste
For seasoning :
  • Urad dal - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Hing - a pinch
  • Dry red chilly - 1/2
  • Oil - 1 teaspoon
Time : 10 minutes
Servings : 3 

Method :
Step 1. Wash and chop onion,  tomato,  green chilly and coriander leaves to small pieces. 



Step 2. Grate coconut and grind to fine paste. add 1/4 cup of water while grinding.


Step 3. Add ground coconut paste to chopped onion mixture.


Step 4. Add curd and salt,  mix well.



Step 5. For seasoning,  on LOW flame, urad dal (here I used unpolished urad dal) , mustard seeds, dried red chilli and  hing in oil. 


Step 6. When mustard splutters,  pour it on onion and curd mixture and mix well.


 Step 7. Enjoy !
