Fenugreek spicy tambli / menthe khaara tambli / methi khaara tambli is also one such recipe. In this post let us explore the methods of preparing it. I have divided the whole procedure into four steps. Let us start with ingredients.
Ingredients : 1 cup = 250 ml
- Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
- Curd - 1/4 cup
- Salt - according to taste
- Fenugreek seeds / mentya - 3/4 to 1 teaspoon
- Red byadagi chilly - 1
- Mustard seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
- Curry leaves - 4 to 5
- Oil - 1 teaspoon
Method :
Step 1. On LOW flame, roast fenugreek seeds (1 tspoon), red chilly, curry leaves and mustard seeds (1/4 tspoon) in oil (1 tspoon). Roast till mustard splutters. Allow it to cool.

Step 2. Grind grated coconut along with roasted ingredients into fine paste adding sufficient water.

Step 3. Now add curd and grind again for few more seconds for mixing.

Step 4. Pour it to a vessel and add 1/2 cup of water. Add salt according to taste. Mix well. Enjoy with rice!

Thanks to my Atte - Mahadevi for this traditional Havyaka cuisine. In the same way, we can also prepare Fenugreek sweet Tambli without adding red chillies, instead use jaggery. I will write about it in coming days.
