Rice flour Roti - Instant / akki masala rotti

I wish you a very happy new year.  This year I hope you keep your new year's resolution for a longer period of time. By that I mean at least a week :)

  • Rice flour - 1 cup
  • Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
  • Cucumber - 1 small sized
  • Carrot - 1 medium sized
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon (after grating)
  • Green chilly - 1
  • Onion - 1 medium sized
  • Coriander leaves - fistful
  • Oil - for preparing roti
  • Salt - according to taste


Step 1. Finely chop onion, green chilly, coriander leaves. Grate coconut, ginger, carrot and cucumber.

Step 2. In a mixing vessel, pour rice flour (1 cup), add all other ingredients and salt (according to taste). Crumble well. Add little quantity of water for kneading (don't add too much of water).

 Step 3. Knead well to prepare roti dough.

Step 4. Heat thava, grease oil on it. Dip your hand in water and prepare a ball from the dough. Put the dough on hot thava and press all sides gently to prepare roti (while pressing also dip your hand in water frequently).  Apply one more teaspoon of oil on the roti. Close the lid for about a minute.

 Step 5. Flip to other side. Add one more teaspoon of oil on it.

 Step 6. Enjoy with coconut chutney!
