Garlic chutney / tokku / bellulli chutne / bellulli tokku

Garlic chutney / tokku / bellulli chutne / bellulli tokku
Ingredients:
  • Garlic - 1 whole bulb (18 to 20 cloves)
  • Red chilly - 1 (ripened or dried)
  • Tamarind - small lemon sized ball
  • Jaggery/sugar - 1 table spoon
  • Salt - 1.5 t spoons
  • Oil - 1 tspoon
Method: (Low flame)
Step 1. In a kadhai, roast red chilly (here I used ripened green chilly) in 1/2 teaspoon of oil for 1 to 2 minutes. Keep aside.

Step 2. Roast garlic cloves in the same kadhai adding another 1/2 teaspoon of oil on low flame till garlic changes its color (you can also roast red chilly and garlic together). Allow it to cool for few minutes.

 

Step 3. Grind roasted garlic, chilly, tamarind (small lemon sized ball), jaggery/sugar (1 table spoon) and salt (1.5 teaspoons) to make fine paste. That's all.


Step 4. Best enjoyed with anna+mosaru or ragi mudde. Refrigerate it in air tight container (Use within a week). Enjoy!
