Sambara dose

Sambara dose
Ingredients: 1 cup =250 ml
  • Dosa rice - 1 cup
  • Methi seeds - 1 tspoon
  • Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
  • Coriander seeds - 1 tbl spoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tbl spoon
  • Clove - 1 (optional)
  • Hing - 1/ 2 tspoon
  • Red chillies - 3 (add more for more spicy taste)
  • Salt - according to taste
  • Oil - to drop on dosa

Method:
Step 1. Soak dosa rice along with methi seeds for at least one hour or overnight.



Step 2. (Next morning or after 1 hour) grind soaked dosa rice along with grated coconut, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, hing, red chillies and clove by adding sufficient water. Grind it to a fine paste.



Step 3. Add salt and mix well. Add some more water, consistency of batter should be watery than normal dosa batter but not too watery also.



Step 4. Heat dosa tawa, prepare dosa. Drop a tspoon of oil on dosa, before closing lid. Roast both sides.




Step 5. Serve with coconut chutney or sambar or our Havyaka special 'tuppa and bella' . Enjoy!
