Jack fruit idli / halasina hannina idli is a very tasty traditional havyaka recipe.
Ingredients: 1 cup = 250 ml
- Jack fruit (After extracting its juice)- 1 cup
- Jaggery - 3/4 cup
- Idli sooji / akki kadi / akki rave - 3/4 cup
- Grated coconut - 1/2 (around 3/4 cup)
- Coconut oil - 7 to 8 tspoons
- Salt - according to taste
Step 1. Cut jack fruit and remove its seeds.
Step 2. Grind jack fruit to juice. Keep aside.
Step 3. For preparing idli sooji/akki rave, grind 3/4 cup of rice to course powder form(not too much powdery), then wash well and drain water. Keep aside. ( You can also use ready-made idli-sooji).
