Yellow pumpkin pakoda / sihi kumbala kayi baje
Recommended by my friend Rupa. She is from West Bengal. And this is a famous recipe in Bengal.
I also recommend you to try it.

Ingredients: 1 cup = 100 ml
  • Yellow pumpkin - A small piece, (~1/8 kg)
  • Besan flour - 1.5 cups
  • Red chilly powder - 1/4 tspoon (you can add more for more spicy taste)
  • Hing - 1/8 tspoon
  • Black cumin seeds - 1 tspoon(optional, it gives more taste)
  • Salt - for taste
  • Oil for deep fry

Method:
Step 1. Wash thoroughly and cut pumpkin into ~ 2 mm thickness of pieces. No need to remove outer skin of pumpkin

Step 2. In a vessel add besan flour, chilly powder, hing, black cumin seeds and salt. Mix well.

Step 3. Add water to above mixture, mix well without lumps. Consistency of batter must be not too thick and also not watery.

Step 4.  Dip pieces of pumpkin in batter and deep fry both sides.

Step 5. Enjoy!
