Bokke Halasina Hannina Suttevu / Jackfruit Suttevu
Ingredients: 1 cup = 250 ml

  • Rice - 1 cup
  • Jackfruit (Ripened)- 1/2 cup
  • Grated coconut - 1/4 cup
  • Jaggery - 1/4 cup
  • Cardomum - 5 to 6
  • Salt - a pinch


Method:
1. Soak rice for 2 hours. Meanwhile prepare jackfruit pods by removing seeds and cutting them into pieces.


 2. Grind jackfruit pods, jaggery and soaked rice without water.  Once the texture of this mixture turns smooth, then add grated coconut and salt (pic below) and grind it to a smooth paste (you may add a little water). The final consistency of the batter should be thicker than idli batter.




3.  In a kadai, heat oil. Slowly place spoonful of batter.


4. Cook suttevu on all sides till it turns golden brown in colour.
