Matar Paneer


For a change, this time I am writing about a North Indian recipe. It is very tasty side dish for chapati.

Ingredients:

  • Cumin - 2 teaspoons
  • Hing - pinch
  • Turmeric powder- pinch
  • Ginger - garlic 1 teaspoon
  • Paneer- 300 gm
  • Green peas- 1 cup
  • Tomato - 2
  • Onion- 1
  • Oil- 2 teaspoons
  • Coriander powder / dhania powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder / jeera powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garam Masala powder- 1/4 tspoon
  • Chilli powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander leaves


Time: 45 minutes.
Servings : 3 to 4

Method:

Step 1. Prepare green peas, tomato, onion and paneer.



Step 2. Add oil. Keep it on low flame. Add cumin and hing.



Step 3. Fry onion and ginger garlic paste, till they turn golden yellow, then add tomatoes and fry for about 5-10 minutes till tomatoes melt.



Step 4. Add green peas. Add coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt. Add a cup of water. Close the lid and cook for about 10 minutes.





 Step 5. Add paneer. Add a little salt. Keep it on low flame for another ten minutes. Keep stirring. Add water if needed.



 Step 6. Add chopped coriander leaves and enjoy it with roti/chapati.
