Carrot Halwa

Carrot Halwa

Ingredients: 1 cup = 250 ml


  • Grated carrot-6 cups
  • Milk- 2 cups
  • Sugar- 4 cups
  • Ghee- 2 teaspoons
  • Cashew nuts
  • Saffron (Optional)
  • Salt - a pinch

Method: 

Step 1. Fry grated carrot in ghee for five minutes.


Step 2. Add milk and two teaspoons of ghee, and in low flame, cook until the raw smell of carrots disappears (for about 10-15 minutes).



Step 3. On low flame, add sugar and keep on stirring till it becomes thicker (it will take around 10-15 minutes).




Step 4. Finally add saffron (you can add cardamom if saffron is not at available). And add fried (in ghee) cashew nuts and turn off the stove.


Step 5. Enjoy!
