Palak Roti / palak soppina rotti

Ingredients: 1 cup = 250 ml
  • Palak leaves - 5 to 6
  • Ginger - 2 inches
  • Tamarind - small gooseberry sized ball
  • Green chilly - 1
  • Wheat flour - 1 to 1.5 cups (according to quantity of ground palak mixture)
  • Salt - according to taste


Step 1. Grind palak leaves along with ginger, tamarind, green chilly and little amount of water. Blend to fine paste.


Step 2. In a mixing vessel, add 1 to 1.5 cups of wheat flour and salt (according to taste). Pour ground palak mixture. Mix well using hands.

Step 3. Knead the mixture to prepare roti dough.

Step 4. Prepare dough balls.

 Step 5. Roll dusting with wheat flour.

Step 6. Roast roti both sides on hot thava.


 Step 7. Enjoy with palya.
