Kalasanna is very simple and tasty rice item. The preparation of this recipe is similar to curd rice. Here also we use curd and rice and mix it with hand, hence the name kalasanna. Instead you can also use whisker or grinder for mixing cooked rice and curd. I also learnt that in north Karnataka region, generally it is fed to pregnant women by her mothers.
In this recipe, onion and garlic are not used. Still it tastes great. Otherwise it is like curd rice. It is easy to prepare. All you need is cooked rice, curd and some other vegetables. Ingredients: 1 cup = 250 ml
- Cooked rice - 1 cup
- Coriander leaves - 3 table spoons
- Curry leaves - few
- Ginger grated - 1/2 teaspoon
- Green chilly chopped - 1/2 teaspoon
- Curd - 1/2 cup
- Salt - according to taste

Method:
Step 1. Chop coriander leaves, curry leaves and green chilly. Grate or crush ginger. Add all these ingredients and salt to cooked rice.
