Kayi Sukkinunde
Kayi sukkinunde is a sweet Havyaka recipe mainly prepared during festivals.

  • Grated coconut - 1 cup
  • Jaggery / sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Ghee - 2 tspoons
  • Wheat flour ~ 1/2 cup 
  • Salt - according to taste
  • Oil - for deep frying
Step 1. In a thick bottomed kadhai pour grated coconut(1 cup) and jaggery(1/2 cup) together. Switch on the stove and stir well till jeggery melts. Add ghee (2 tspoons) (on low to medium flame).

Step 2. Stir continuously when mixture started to thickens. Switch off the stove when mixture started to leaves bottom. Keep aside for cool.

Step 3. Prepare wheat flour batter by adding water to wheat flour(1/2 cup) and salt. Consistency of batter should be thicker like dosa batter.

Step 4. Make small lemon sized balls from coconut+jaggery mixture. 

Step 5. Heat oil, dip coconut balls in wheat flour batter and deep fry on all sides.

Step 6. Enjoy!
