Jack fruit idli / halasina hannina idli
Jack fruit idli / halasina hannina idli is a very tasty traditional havyaka recipe. 

Ingredients: 1 cup = 250 ml
  • Jack fruit (After extracting its juice)- 1 cup 
  • Jaggery - 3/4 cup
  • Idli sooji / akki kadi / akki rave - 3/4 cup
  • Grated coconut - 1/2 (around 3/4 cup)
  • Coconut oil - 7 to 8 tspoons
  • Salt - according to taste

Step 1. Cut jack fruit and remove its seeds.

Step 2. Grind jack fruit to juice. Keep aside.

Step 3. For preparing idli sooji/akki rave, grind 3/4 cup of rice to course powder form(not too much powdery), then wash well and drain water. Keep aside. ( You can also use ready-made idli-sooji).

Step 4. Grate coconut and keep aside.

Step 5. Now mix jack fruit juice(1 cup), jaggery (3/4 cup), grated coconut (1/2 cup to 3/4 cup) to akki kadi (3/4 cup). Also add salt and 7 to 8 tspoons of coconut oil and mix well.

Step 6. Fill idli lota with jack fruit juice batter and steam it in attina kolage (idli container) by closing its lid for half an hour.

Step 7.  Serve with ghee or red coconut chutney. Enjoy!
